American Legion Post 235 gathering at Matthews Rotary Veterans Luncheon Nov 24, 2024 (click)

Thank you to the Matthews' Rotary Club, the Levine Senior Center, and to American Legion Post 235 for an awesome tribute to Veterans from every Era. One of our very own Commanders was the guest speaker. Lt Col Jeffrey Jenkins (Ret) from Post 555 brought the message to remind us how grateful we all are to have served in the Armed Forces in the United States of America and several stories to drive the reality of his speech home. He did an excellent job and touched so many hearts as he spoke about the visible and the invisible scars that we bear.Thank you to the WWll Veterans, the Vietnam Veterans, GWOT Veterans and of course our first responders in the Matthews community who graced us with their presence and the many stories from the floor from fellow veterans. Great job by the Butler High School JROTC and Scouts BSA Troop 15 and 9 year old Liam with his rendition of "Amazing Grace" on his bagpipe.
