Matthews Concert Band Fall Concert - Tuesday Oct 29, 7:30 pm
Our concerts this year all commemorate the end of World War II 80 years ago.
This concert is called “The Music They Marched To” and includes music that WWII soldiers/sailors would have heard as they trained and fought. One of the marches, “America Forever,” was written the night after Pearl Harbor was bombed.I’m sure many of your members, like me, had a father or other relative in the war. Mine was in the Navy on an aircraft carrier that was the first to enter Tokyo Bay after the Japanese surrendered.
